The Faustina Academy Falcons were the 65-64 winner over the Harvest Christian Academy Saints when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Faustina Academy fell just short of the Saints by a score of 52-50.
Faustina Academy lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ben Nelson, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Finn Marsden, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Leading Harvest Christian Academy to victory were Elijah Cleary and Andy Cumbest. Cleary scored 21 points, while Cumbest scored 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cleary has scored at least a third of Harvest Christian Academy's points.
Faustina Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Harvest Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lakewood Presbyterian the next time they take the court. Faustina Academy will head out to face the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Saints will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
