Basketball Recap: Lutheran-Northeast Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lexie Dinkel and Emerson Rose-Hancock

Lutheran-Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. The contest between them and the Fullerton Warriors didn't end well, with the Lutheran-Northeast Eagles falling 47-29. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Lutheran-Northeast's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emerson Rose-Hancock, who posted six points and three steals, and Lexie Dinkel, who put up eight points and three steals. Those three steals gave Rose-Hancock a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Mcdonald, who earned five points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Jaci Maxfield was her usual excellent self, going 6 of 15 en route to 16 points in addition to eight steals and six boards for Fullerton. Maxfield's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Georgia Bridger was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Lutheran-Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Fullerton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season.

Lutheran-Northeast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-26 loss against Archangels Catholic on the 1st. As for Fullerton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-20 defeat against Pleasanton on the 31st.
