Farmersville was led to victory by Gabriel Contreras and Aiden Perez. Contreras scored 16 points, while Perez scored 20 points.
Despite the loss, Laton still got an impressive performance from Johnathan Garcia, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jovanni Mata, who scored four points.
Even though they lost, Laton were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Farmersville's victory bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Laton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farmersville will finish 2023 at home by hosting Arvin at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Laton will finish 2023 at home by hosting Woodlake at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Woodlake is ranked 1439th, while Laton is ranked 1447th).
