The Garden Grove Argonauts were the 31-23 winner over the Segerstrom Jaguars when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Garden Grove took a hard 31-14 fall against Segerstrom on Thursday. That makes it the first time this season Garden Grove has let down their home crowd.
When it comes to explaining why Garden Grove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Branden Roth. Despite the final result, he threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns.
Among those leading the charge was Isaiah Valdivia, who rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Valdivia was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Diaz, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Garden Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 2-7 record this season. As for Segerstrom, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Garden Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Segerstrom is also done with their season.
