The BASIS Red Giants's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Calverton and snuck past 72-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
BASIS found their leader in underclassman Timothy Chamberlain II, who scored 56 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Chamberlain II has scored at least 25% of BASIS's points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Hickman, who scored 9 points.
The win got BASIS back to even at 1-1. As for Calverton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
BASIS will head out on the road to face off against E.L. Haynes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Calverton, they will be playing at home against Yeshiva at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
