If Kittatinny Regional were riding high off their 24-0 takedown of High Point last Saturday, that ride came to an abrupt end. Kittatinny Regional took a 17-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newton. Kittatinny Regional's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Among those leading the charge for Newton was senior Ryan Kaiser, who rushed for 91 yards and 1 touchdown. That makes it four straight good games in a row from Kaiser. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Justin Mayhood, who racked up 11 tackles.
After their action against one another, the teams are leaving the conference to test themselves against outside opponents. Kittatinny Regional will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Morris Catholic. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'. Newton will stay at home against Madison at 7:00 PM. Unlike Newton, Madison will be limping in after taking a loss.
