The Carter-Riverside Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight loss. They were beaten by Western Hills 83-19. Carter-Riverside was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Western Hills apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Carter-Riverside had strong showings from Ivan McNeer, who scored seven points along with five rebounds, and Davon Carey, who scored three points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McNeer has scored all season.
Carter-Riverside bumped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Western Hills, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.
Carter-Riverside will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 1:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. After both having extra time off, Western Hills and Benbrook will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another on January 2, 2024. Benbrook has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
