The St. Charles Cardinals fell victim to the Bishop Hartley Hawks''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Hawks on the road and fell 31-0. While losing is never fun, St. Charles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Bishop Hartley is ranked 47th).
Robert Lathon was on fire for Bishop Hartley: he rushed for 296 yards while picking up 13.5 yards per carry. Bishop Hartley also got a significant boost from Jay Zang, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
St. Charles has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Bishop Hartley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
St. Charles will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Green at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Green will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Bishop Hartley will take on Philo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Philo is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
