Basketball Recap: Flora Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Flora hadn't done well against Robinson recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Flora Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 victory over the Robinson Maroons. That's more bragging rights for the Wolves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Robinson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Wernz, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 21 points. Those 21 points gave Wernz a new career-high. Cruz Dunlap was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Flora's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Robinson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Flora will head out to face off against Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Robinson, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Anthony will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Robinson surely won't give up without a fight.
