The Sacred Heart Prep Gators waltzed into their matchup Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They put the hurt on Ogden with a sharp 73-52 victory. Sacred Heart Prep might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Sacred Heart Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was TJ O'Brien, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The match was O'Brien's seventh in a row with at least ten points. JP Kerrigan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Sacred Heart Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Ogden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.
Sacred Heart Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Foothills Christian at 9:00 a.m. on December 28th. Foothills Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 872nd, while Sacred Heart Prep is ranked 166th). Ogden will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
