The Bishop Walsh Spartans pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hancock. Bishop Walsh was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Hancock was led to victory by Ethan Nichols and Jordyn King. Nichols almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds, while King dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that King pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aiden McCarty, who scored eight points.
Bishop Walsh are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8. As for Hancock, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11.
Bishop Walsh's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Miners at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Hancock, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Hornets at 6:30 p.m. Hyndman Charter School has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
