The Highland Hawks were the 54-41 winner over the Campo Verde Coyotes when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Highland took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Campo Verde on Tuesday. Highland's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Highland saw an underclassman step up: Emilee Searle scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Searle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Riggs, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Kelsey Watts was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds for Campo Verde. Watts has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played.
Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Campo Verde, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-7.
Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Campo Verde also has no future games currently scheduled.
