The Camden Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Lugoff-Elgin Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Camden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Camden's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Dreher as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Maddie Stokes made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayden Kennedy, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. Rachel Martin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Camden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dreher only posted a batting average of .158.
Meanwhile, Lugoff-Elgin had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five two weeks ago. They came out on top against the Redhawks by a score of 9-6.
Cassie Merriweather spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Haleigh Miranda was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Sheorn, who went 4-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lugoff-Elgin pushed their record up to 7-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Camden, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Camden hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Lugoff-Elgin struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Camden skirted past Lugoff-Elgin 3-1 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
