The Salesian Mustangs will face off against the St. Anthony Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Things were looking good for Salesian after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 31-16 bruising from Crespi. The Mustangs were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Despite their defeat, Salesian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Donovan Shirley, who threw for 293 yards and two TDs, was perhaps the best of all.
Even if they lost, Salesian's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Dylan Edwards was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making ten total tackles.
Meanwhile, St. Anthony never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past La Salle, posting a 29-0 victory. The Saints not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 25, 2024 (when they won 42-7).
The win made it two in a row for St. Anthony and bumps their season record up to 2-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 23 points in those games. As for Salesian, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.
