The Hill City Ringnecks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Golden Plains 69-28 at home. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Hill City with their most commanding win of the season.
Jaden Nuss continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Mason Herman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Despite the defeat, Golden Plains saw an underclassman step up: Dylan Wark scored 21 points. That was a full 75% of Golden Plains' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Golden Plains struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hill City racked up 12 assists.
Hill City pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Golden Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hill City and Thunder Ridge will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Golden Plains, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheatland-Grinnell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Golden Plains focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
