The Sandia Prep Sundevils will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Bloomfield Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Sandia Prep kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-50 to Menaul.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield came up short against Pojoaque Valley on Monday and fell 62-52. Bloomfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Loss or not, Bloomfield got some senior leadership from Sam Slivers who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and Andrew Florez who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Florez scored a full 30.8% of Bloomfield's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sandia Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Bloomfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Sandia Prep beat Bloomfield 47-34 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Sandia Prep repeat their success, or does Bloomfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
