Sanborn Central/Woonsocket is 8-2 against Highmore/Harrold since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Highmore/Harrold Pirates at 6:30 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-51 to Parkston. While losing is never fun, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Parkston is ranked 17th).
Meanwhile, Highmore/Harrold was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 52-48 to Hitchcock-Tulare. Highmore/Harrold has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Highmore/Harrold, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket strolled past Highmore/Harrold when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 49-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sanborn Central/Woonsocket since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
