The Houlka Wildcats were the 57-53 winner over the Potts Camp Cardinals when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Houlka lost to Potts Camp on the road by a decisive 83-69 margin on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (68), Houlka still had to take the loss.
Houlka's loss came despite strong showings from Nehemiah Flemmings and Elijah Foster. Flemmings dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, while Foster scored nine points along with ten rebounds. Foster set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Another player making a difference was Dee Simon, who scored five points.
Houlka's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Potts Camp, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Houlka will head out on the road to face off against Vardaman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Potts Camp, they will stay at home for another game and welcome North Pontotoc at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th. North Pontotoc is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
