East Central is 0-10 against Steele since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The East Central Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Steele Knights at 7:15 p.m. East Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Friday just wasn't the day for East Central's offense. They suffered a tough 8-0 defeat at the hands of New Braunfels on Friday. While losing is never fun, East Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 551st, while New Braunfels is ranked 101st).
Meanwhile, Steele sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over San Marcos on Friday. The victory was just what Steele needed coming off of a 7-2 defeat in their prior game.
East Central dropped their record down to 2-9-1 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored zero goals over those four matches. As for Steele, their win bumped their record up to 8-2-2.
