If the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks were riding high off their 54-5 takedown of the River Valley Dust Devils last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Yuma Catholic fell 44-35 to American Leadership Academy - West Foothills on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Yuma Catholic of the 49-44 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Yuma Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amanda Wiley. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Wiley is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Yuma Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for American Leadership Academy - West Foothills, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-11.
