The Valiant Cross Academy Warriors waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They came out on top against Lee-Scott Academy by a score of 63-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Deshawn Hall was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Hall is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. John Cosby was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lee-Scott Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Haiden Harper, who scored 17 points along with five assists and four steals. Harper has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 15 times he's played. Another player making a difference was William Liles, who scored nine points.
Valiant Cross Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Lee-Scott Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-5.
Valiant Cross Academy will take on Macon-East Montgomery Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Macon-East Montgomery Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday. As for Lee-Scott Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenwood and Lee-Scott Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
