The Norwayne Bobcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Smithville with a 54-49 victory. This was payback for Norwayne, who suffered a 53-47 loss the last time these two teams met.
Norwayne was led to victory by Parker Metsker and Braden West. Metsker scored 14 points along with eight assists, while West scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Braylon Arnold was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Norwayne's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Smithville, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norwayne won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Triway at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Triway will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Norwayne is ranked 94th). As for Smithville, they will head out on the road to face off against Waynedale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
