St. Andrew's's Donovan Simpson rumbled for the longest rushing play in Independent this season in his game against George School last week. Simpson ran for 71 yards on the play and finished with 83 on the day as his team defeated the Cougars.
Tower Hill made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,862 from 12,171. The advance stemmed from a 21-0 victory over Red Lion Christian Academy last week.
Austin Tilghman was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 240 yards on eight carries as St. Andrew's topped George School.
St. Andrew's' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cardinals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tilghman has thrown for 24 yards this season, while Joe Hines has one catch for 13 yards. Tilghman also leads the league in rushing with 1012 yards.
Two of the top units in Independent will face off this week when Mike Hyde's team takes on the Hillers. The Cardinals' offense has racked up 135 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Tower Hill has allowed only 95 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Kevin Waesco's team takes on St. Andrew's. The Hillers are currently in third, while the Cardinals are in second.
