The Brownell Talbot Raiders struggled with assists on Saturday (the Arlington Eagles had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Brownell Talbot had to suffer through a rough 60-23 loss at the hands of Arlington. Brownell Talbot has struggled against Arlington recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Avery Nichols and Nya Ping certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Nichols scored eight points along with ten rebounds and five steals, while Ping scored six points. Nichols scored a full 34.8% of Brownell Talbot's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Leading Arlington to victory were Emerson Timm and Britt Nielsen. Timm scored 13 points along with four steals, while Nielsen scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Macy Wolf was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Brownell Talbot's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Arlington, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brownell Talbot will challenge Mead on Friday. Mead comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Arlington, they will head out on the road to face off against Douglas County West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
