Leggett is 2-8 against the Wildcats since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Leggett Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Brookeland Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Leggett is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Leggett took a serious blow against the Eagles, falling 58-24. Leggett has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Leggett's loss came about despite a quality game from Tamera Henderson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Henderson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bianca Perkins, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Brookeland put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Chester on the road to the tune of 60-29. Winning may never get old, but Brookeland sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Leggett has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season. As for Brookeland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.
Leggett took a serious blow against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in January, falling 81-29. Can Leggett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
