It was a good run, but the USC-MAE Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to Downtown Magnets 49-43. USC-MAE has struggled against Downtown Magnets recently, as their game on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Downtown Magnets found their leader in underclassman Patrick Lei, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lei has scored all season. Calvin Viola was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
USC-MAE's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Downtown Magnets, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. USC-MAE will take on Animo Bunche at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Downtown Magnets, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Annenberg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Annenberg is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
