The Waynesville Spartans were the 65-49 winner over the Franklin Wildcats when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Waynesville took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kai Cook went supernova for Franklin, scoring 32 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Cook has scored at least 25% of Franklin's points. Carter Black was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Waynesville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Franklin, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Waynesville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Madison at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully Madison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Friday. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against Monroe at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
