Liberty not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 11-1). Everything went their way against Non Varsity Opponent as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Jackson Sims spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Liberty got a big performance out of Blaine Deege, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Deege a new career-high. Henry Gibbs was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Liberty's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.
