New Manchester strolled past Langston Hughes with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 59-44. This was payback for New Manchester, who suffered a 58-50 loss the last time these two teams met.
New Manchester was led to victory by Andrea Guilford #1 and Jocelyn Faison. Guilford #1 scored 19 points along with six rebounds, while Faison scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Guilford #1 scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Broadus #23, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylar-Rae Johnson, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kyla Greene, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
New Manchester is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Langston Hughes, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-6.
