The Holy Cross Indians can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 68-30 win over Whitefield Academy. The victory was familiar territory for Holy Cross who now have four in a row.
Whitefield Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sara Ritter, who scored 14 points. Noel Smith was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Holy Cross has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Whitefield Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
Holy Cross will be playing in front of their home fans against Lloyd Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lloyd Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Holy Cross is ranked eighth). Whitefield Academy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Oldham County at 3:30 p.m. on January 27th.
