After flying high against Terry last Friday, Picayune came back down to earth. The Picayune Maroon Tide might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the West Jones Mustangs an easy 5-2 win. The Maroon Tide's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Picayune's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-5-1. As for West Jones, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Picayune will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Jones at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. West Jones will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Petal at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in West Jones' favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last four matchups.
