HRK is 9-1 against Oakhill Christian since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The HRK Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Oakhill Christian Royals at 6:00 a.m. HRK knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Oakhill Christian likes a good challenge.
HRK pushed their score all the way to 55 last Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-55 to The Prairie School. While losing is never fun, HRK can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 99th in Illinois, while The Prairie School is ranked 27th in Wisconsin).
HRK's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chelsey Gardner, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds, and Molli Ward who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals. Gardner is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 16 games she's played. Angelina Ward was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Oakhill Christian put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Madison Area Homeschool Sports Tigers with a sharp 46-23 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Oakhill Christian.
HRK has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 21-5 record this season. As for Oakhill Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
HRK strolled past Oakhill Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 58-40. Does HRK have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oakhill Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
