Central hasn't had much luck against Cranston East recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Knights will head out to face off against the Thunderbolts at 4:00 p.m. Central knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Cranston East likes a good challenge.
Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Paul Cuffee on Friday as they made off with a 23-1 victory. Considering the Knights have won five matches by more than 11 runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayleen White and Diana Mejia did most of the damage at the plate: White went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Mejia got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple and two RBI. Those three RBI gave White a new career-high. Janet Batista was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .811. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .657 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Cranston East made sure to put some runs up on the board against Classical on Thursday. The Thunderbolts blew past the Purple 19-3. The Thunderbolts haven't had any issues with the Purple recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Lexi Montalban was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Cydnee Meekins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Gianna Tocci, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Cranston East now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Central, their record is now 5-1.
Central might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Cranston East in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
