After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Benjamin Franklin, the Globe Tigers were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They snuck past Miami with a 58-54 win. For Globe, this counts as revenge for the 66-39 loss Miami walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Jonas Dillon was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Edwards, who scored 14 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Globe's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-15. As for Miami, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Globe will take on Payson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Payson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Globe likes a good challenge. Miami won't have much time to rest: their next match is against San Tan Charter at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. San Tan Charter will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
