The Port St. Lucie Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 48-9 defeat at the hands of Sebastian River. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Port St. Lucie in their matchups with Sebastian River: they've now lost six in a row.
Sebastian River can attribute much of their success to Isabella Bowen, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Bowen's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Samiya Adams, who scored six points along with five steals.
Port St. Lucie's loss was their 11th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.9 points per game. As for Sebastian River, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port St. Lucie's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lincoln Park Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. As for Sebastian River, they will face off against Melbourne at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
