The St. Brendan Sabres have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season. They really took it to Divine Savior Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-10 victory on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win St. Brendan has managed all season.
Jaden Castro was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of St. Brendan's points. Another player making a difference was Sofia Toro, who scored 12 points.
St. Brendan now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Divine Savior Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Brendan won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sunset at 3:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Sunset focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Wednesday. As for Divine Savior Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Mater Academy Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
