St. Anthony is 9-1 against Farina South Central since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Monday. St. Anthony blew past Highland 17-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for St. Anthony.

Nancy Ruholl and Camille Wines were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Ruholl pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Wines pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Ruholl scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Wines scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Wines a new career-high in RBI (two).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Schultz, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ady Rios was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
St. Anthony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland only posted an OBP of .357.
Meanwhile, Farina South Central didn't have quite enough to beat Vandalia on Monday and fell 8-7.
Like St. Anthony, Farina South Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddie Peddicord. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Peddicord was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Kyra Swift and Kinlee Thompson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Swift scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Thompson scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that Swift snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Swift, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Farina South Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. The win got St. Anthony back to even at 3-3.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Anthony hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Farina South Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .421. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went St. Anthony's way against Farina South Central in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as St. Anthony made off with a 15-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Anthony since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
