The St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors were the 42-32 winner over the Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion when they last played one another on January 5th, but their luck changed this time around. St. Thomas More Academy took a 36-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lion.
Several Chancellors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Libby Fix, who scored nine points along with five steals. Fix is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last eight games she's played. Enora Boutrand was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Leading Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill to victory were Avery Togni and Ashlyn Lange. Togni scored 14 points, while Lange scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Togni has scored all season.
St. Thomas More Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Thomas More Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Grunts at 4:30 p.m. on January 24th. Father Capodanno will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against the Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
