1A-2 Region I District 3 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Springlake-Earth extended the longest winning streak in 1A-2 Region I District 3 this week by beating Smyer, 42-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Sudan moved up to 411 from 563 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Hornets climbed the ranks as a result of a 54-7 win over Plains.
Springlake-Earth's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Yannis threw for 91 yards and J.T. Weldon had 40 yards receiving. On the ground Nathan Garcia chipped in 92 yards. Elijah Ramon helped Springlake-Earth's passing attack out by catching two balls for 25 yards.
Springlake-Earth's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wolverines feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Yannis has thrown for 545 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Ramon has eight catches for 194 yards. Garcia leads the league in rushing with 352 yards.
Sudan took down the Cowboys 54-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
