Lewis & Clark recap November 5, 2013
Kyle Popkes and Slater Stone provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Louisiana. The connection was good for 95 yards, the longest such play in Lewis & Clark this season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Westran beat North Shelby 49-0. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Hornets.
Stone had an awesome week catching the football as Paris defeated the Bulldogs. He caught 8 passes for 267 yards.
Blake Belzer was a beast in the backfield as Marceline beat Braymer.
Popkes threw for 465 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 17-40 with 3 interceptions.
Stone was the best wideout in the league this week as the Coyotes topped Louisiana. Stone racked up 8 receptions for 267 yards. Brendon Hancock helped Paris' passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 150 yards.
Paris' Popkes and Stone have formed a dream team this season, leading Lewis & Clark in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Popkes has thrown for 2,550 yards this season, while Stone has 65 catches for 1,140 yards. Westran's Zane Jacoby leads the league in rushing yards with 1,385.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Salisbury takes on the Tigers. As it stands, the Panthers are in second, while Marceline is in third.
Paul Thomas' team took down the Bobcats 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Belzer ran for 275 yards during the win.
