Given Foothill's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while Red Bluff is ranked 819th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyler Zanhiser was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Cruz, who scored seven points along with five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Red Bluff lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marcos Torres. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Torres scored 15 or more points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Foothill and bumps their season record up to 13-8. As for Red Bluff, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foothill will take on Enterprise at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Red Bluff, they will head out on the road to square off against Pleasant Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Pleasant Valley's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Red Bluff has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
