The Cromwell Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Morgan, falling 78-29. Cromwell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-16.
Morgan was led to victory by Ava Johnson and Sadie Passante. Johnson scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Passante scored 21 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Passante has scored all season. Liliana Luciani was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Cromwell has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Morgan, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.
Cromwell will head out on the road to square off against the Terriers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Rocky Hill's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Panthers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Morgan will take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
