Boone County is 0-7 against Highlands since May of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bluebirds at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Boone County came out on top against Holmes on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Rebels were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Trent Wilson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. Boone County is 2-1 when Wilson allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-13 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Ayden Kays was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Ethan Rossi was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Boone County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Highlands sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Dixie Heights on Friday. The Bluebirds haven't had any issues with the Colonels recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Highlands also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Garrett Wiggins gave up just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. Wiggins has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nolan Schwalbach, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Highlands' win bumped their record up to 19-9-2. As for Boone County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.
