Iota never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Church Point on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp  12-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine games by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
 Saige Cherry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Haydyn Schexnayder and  Charli Sonnier did most of the damage at the plate:  Schexnayder  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Sonnier  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  Schexnayder has posted since back in February of 2024.  Chloe Bordelon was another key player,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 Iota  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Church Point struck out nine times.
Iota has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record  this season. Church Point is  on  a  nine-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-11-1.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Iota will square off against Crowley at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Crowley has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.21  runs per game on average), something Iota will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Church Point, they will host St. Edmund  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
