The Symmes Valley Vikings have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Northwest Mohawks at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Symmes Valley has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
On Saturday, Symmes Valley was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Golden Rockets.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jacob Cade, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Aydan Taylor, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northwest had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.6 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They strolled past South Gallia with points to spare, taking the game 68-50. Northwest pushed the score to 54-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rebels cut but never quite recovered from.
Symmes Valley's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Northwest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
