After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bandys, the St. Stephens Indians were happy to have found some success on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over Bunker Hill. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
St. Stephens found their leader in underclassman Javian White, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 11 rebounds. White also pulled down eight+ rebounds for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Noah VanBeurden, who scored 13 points.
St. Stephens' victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Bunker Hill, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
St. Stephens will head out on the road to face off against Maiden at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Maiden's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Bunker Hill, they will be playing at home against Wilkes Central at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilkes Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
