The Galesburg Christian Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Quad Cities Christian, falling 65-34. Galesburg Christian has not had much luck with Quad Cities Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the loss, Galesburg Christian still got an impressive performance from Andrew Summers, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 70.6% of Galesburg Christian's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Seth Karl was his usual excellent self, shooting 6-for-8 from long range and dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds for Quad Cities Christian. Karl also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cobie Becker-Paradiso, who scored ten points along with two steals and two blocks.
Galesburg Christian now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Quad Cities Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
Galesburg Christian will be playing at home against Pathway Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pathway Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Quad Cities Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tri-State Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Tri-State Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
