The North Salem Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Northwood an easy 72-46 win. While losing is never fun, North Salem can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 234th in Oregon, while Northwood is ranked 110th in North Carolina).
Drake Powell was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with nine rebounds for Northwood. The contest was Powell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Fowler, who scored 11 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds.
North Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Northwood, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
