Era had lost four straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-6 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Perrin-Whitt Pirates with a sharp 12-6 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Bentley Sloop was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off five hits. Sloop was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, Era got a massive performance out of Jaycie Goss, who went 3-for-5 with six stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those six stolen bases gave Goss a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tristen Boyd, who went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Era was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
As for Perrin-Whitt, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-1. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.
On Perrin-Whitt's side, they got a massive performance out of Bea Adams, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Gray, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Coming up, Era will be taking part in a tournament against Honey Grove at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Perrin-Whitt, they will head out to face off against Chico at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
