The Brookland Bearcats will be playing at home against the Forrest City Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brookland will be strutting in after a victory while Forrest City will be coming in after a defeat.
Brookland fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They beat Paragould on Friday by the very same score they won with last week: 28-13.
Meanwhile, Forrest City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Wynne 49-14.
The losing side was boosted by Montrel Matthews, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown. Eric Ward got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Brookland's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Forrest City, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8-1.
Brookland skirted past Forrest City 32-30 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Will Brookland repeat their success, or does Forrest City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
